About us

The CHANCE Network was established in 2021 with the aim of advancing networking, research, learning, policy, and financing for climate change and health in Africa. To achieve this, the network facilitates stakeholders to meet, exchange knowledge, share information, collaborate on emerging climate and health research, share best practices through case studies including relevant mitigation and adaptation measures, coordinate efforts for advocacy and evidence-based African policy development, and provide technical assistance to promote access to climate financing.

Alleviate the burden of climate change on health and health systems in Africa.

Provide an enabling environment to engage a diversity of stakeholders to address health and climate priorities in Africa.

Our members are from East, South, and West Africa as well as from other parts of the world. These include people working in the local and national government, research institutions, healthcare facilities, climate and meteorological agencies, international agencies, civil society organizations, NGOs, and many others. The Network is recognized and endorsed at the national level in several African countries.
